30 Sep – Walton Goggins who starred as Billy Crash in Quentin Tarantino’s spaghetti western “Django Unchained” has taken up a new project under William Monahan for the film “Mojave”.
Monahan has previously won an Academy Award for the script of “The Departed” and directed his first film “London Boulevard” before starting up on this current project. “Mojave” has already locked in two leading men for the film, Jason Clarke and Oscar Isaac.
Clarke appeared in “Lawless” and is acclaimed for his work in “Zero Dark Thirty”. Isaac was part of “The Bourne Legacy” and “10 years”, which could see him scoring an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. He’s also staying musical next year, appearing as the lead in the Coen brothers’ “Inside Llewyn Davis”.
Garrett Hedlund and Louise Bourgoin are also appearing in “Mojave”, which finds a near-suicidal artist fleeing to the desert in order to confront an existential crisis. But though he craves solitude and peace to figure out his issues, he’s dogged at every turn by a homicidal drifter who also shows signs of genius intelligence.
Goggins already has an impressive resume, in between working with the likes of Spielberg for “Lincoln”, Tarantino for “Django Unchained” and Robert Rodriguez for “Machete Kills”. He also scored an Emmy nomination for his work on TV’s “Justified”.
